Brett Golden, President and co-founder of The Chart Lab (a provider of quantitative advice solutions for retail and institutional investors), is one of many investors convinced that Apple will release a phablet. "I think definitely [Apple is] going to have that, without a doubt," he told Benzinga.Image Source: Wikimedia Commons PlayStation 4 And Xbox One's Greatest Threat Could Come From Apple And Google Previous 1/11 Next Electronic Arts (NASDAQ: EA) CEO Andrew Wilson caused a bit of commotion when he said that Apple, Google and others within the industry would challenge Sony and Microsoft's control of the living room. Benzinga reached out to several investors and analysts to get their take on the industry. The new OS (and its upgrade, Windows 8.1) is now loaded onto 9.3 percent of all PCs. This is huge news for investors, who have been looking to China (specifically China Mobile) for growth. With 700 million subscribers, China Mobile could provide Apple with some incredible sales opportunities. President Obama recently said that he is not allowed to use the iPhone because of unspecified security reasons.He is allowed to use an iPad, however. The new machine has sold more than 2.1 million units globally. Expect another sales spike to occur when the console is released in Japan in February. Until then, PlayStation 4 is likely to continue selling well through the holiday shopping season. In fact, the company has failed to meet its own sales expectations since Wii U was released. The company is expected to miss sales expectations again -- this time by as many as three million units. Apple is thought to have increased new iPad shipments after the Mini Retina was released. This is a strong indicator that both of the new iPads are performing well at retail. Little is known about the new device, but it is likely to be a workout-oriented product in the style of Nike's previous smart watches. Image Source: Wikimedia Commons 'Catching Fire' Burned The Competition, Could Do So Again Previous 1/11 Next Lions Gate's (NYSE: LGF) The Hunger Games: Catching Fire was the box office champ last weekend.The film grossed $110.2 million over the five-day Thanksgiving movie period (Wednesday, November 27 through Sunday, December 1). Disney's (NYSE: DIS) Frozen came in second place with $93 million. This weekend, Catching Fire is expected to maintain its first-place rank for the third week in a row.
